Golden grass (Vetiver zizanoids), known locally as “Kaincha” is a wild grass found in many parts of Odisha. Dried grass becomes yellow and golden in colour, has been used by a group of Odia women to craft items of daily use by weaving the stems into boxes, baskets and mats.
